 Where are the procedures performed?

The procedures are performed at the main Duke campus and in the new endoscopy suite at Brier Creek.  Please click on this link to see the map. The Duke South Endoscopy is located in clinic 2H.


Why do I need a screening colonoscopy?

All persons over the age of 50 need a colonoscopy to screen for colon cancer.  A type of colon polyp (called "adenomatous polyp") is the precursor of colon cancer. If a polyp is seen tomorrow, it will be removed.  There are several methods for removing a polyp.  Your physician will decide how to remove the polyp depending on its size, location,etc.
